AUBURNDALE PROPERTIES
Auburndale Properties
In 2005, Auburndale Properties incurred substantial building damage and loss of rents at three shopping malls as a result of Hurricane Katrina. After thirteen months of attempting to work directly with representatives of their insurance carrier, Auburndale Properties realized that this was not financially advantageous and hired MLA Claims to assist with their insurance claim efforts.
Prior to the involvement of MLA Claims, the insurance company had paid Auburndale Properties $495,000. The insurance company and the policyholder's respective damage estimates for each property had multi-million dollar discrepancies. Moreover, the amount of the applicable deductible was being disputed by the parties.
At MLA Claims' request, the insurance company agreed not only to recommence the estimating process, but to engage a new set of consultants. MLA Claims, through the hard work and proven results of its personnel, has earned an excellent reputation from which its clients benefit.
Working jointly, the respective teams of experts were able to compile loss estimates with manageable deltas. Mr. Landow was able to negotiate a net (after deductible) loss payment of an additional $6,455,000 for Auburndale Properties.
In 2008, Auburndale Properties sustained major roof damage at a several hundred thousand square foot warehouse facility as a result of winds from Hurricane Ike in Houston, Texas. MLA Claims was hired the next day!
